Being a mother and a female founder, how do you find time to prioritise your own wellbeing?

To be honest, it's more of a non-negotiable to prioritise my wellbeing now that I'm a mother because the consequences of not doing it are so much starker. It's very challenging to juggle running a business with a newborn and 2 year old, so when I'm not well, it feels exponentially more difficult. It's certainly not easier in terms of practicalities - I definitely long for the days when I could get up and just go for a long run or get to a class - but I find the motivation more positive and straightforward. The most impactful thing for me right now is ensuring my nutrition is sound. It's easier to get away with less-than-optimal nutrition if you're able to work out more, but now that my time is so scarce, being consistent with my nutrition and supplementation really sets the tone for my mood, energy, and body shape. I still workout whenever I can, but it's 20 or 30 minutes here and there rather than consistent long sessions. My daughter is just over 3 months old so I'm sure it will get a little easier to exercise as her routine gets more consistent and she sleeps through the night. The other thing I find invaluable is yin yoga. Most nights I do 15 to 20 minutes of yin before bed. It feels so restorative and nourishing after incredibly hectic days.

What are your favourite wellbeing rituals to get you back into a September routine?

Right now, my goal is to get into a good routine with the babies and work, so I don't think I'll be doing my usual September refresh! But I usually do a cleanse in September, like the 7 day reset. I also do some kind of fitness challenge. Last year it was running 120km, the year before it was yoga every day for 30 days - really, it's just a goal I set to get back into a disciplined routine and accomplish something new. This year, I'm just going to try to move everyday - which after a c section and months of sleepless nights feels like a pretty big goal!

How have your nutrition plans and products changed your life?

The reason I do what I do is because I was very sick as a child. It turned out to be an allergy to milk protein, and once I cut it out my health transformed. But even though I went through this experience and went on to become a naturopath and nutritionist, I don't think I really realised how much I could actually optimise my energy and overall health through nutrition and supplements until the last few years. Making tweaks to my diet and being diligent with supplements has unlocked a different level of wellbeing, both emotionally and physically.

What is your favourite post yoga nutrition tip or Artah product?

I love using Cellular Hydration after yoga. It's an electrolyte powder with added maca and inulin, so fantastic for calming the stress response and supporting gut health. It's also light and refreshing, so it gives a boost of energy but isn't as heavy as a shake or smoothie. It has a good dose of magnesium, a calming mineral, so it's also a great way to extend the benefits that yoga has on your mood.

Why is the 7 day Reset plan so beneficial?

The body is incredibly responsive, so even 7 days of positive practices and targeted nutrition can have a significant impact on how you feel. We can do a lot of good in a short period of time - studies have shown that you can influence the composition of your microbiome in only 3 days, not to mention how impactful it can be for mindset, energy and mood. This is one of the reasons I love this plan. Dedicating 1 week to feel better is so manageable and you can see and feel results quickly.

What is your go-to low-impact workout?

I love yoga, barre and pilates and mix it up depending on how I feel and how much time I have. I used to love high intensity workouts but with the amount of sleep I get at the moment I find that low impact workouts feel more effective and achievable.
